Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the region, producing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 emergency reports across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Wyndham region - over 175 emergency requests
During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued storm activity anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
Medical Alert
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the area.
