Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever European campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the last 16, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This occasion provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second game in succession.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were no match against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

Ex-Arsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Game

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
